Jumble Card

Woo hoo!

You have triumphed over one of our business card puzzles, the Jumble! One down, four to go! You can see the other four, here: https://qp.vfocus.com/business-cards/

History

In 1954, a gentleman named Martin Naydel created the first Jumble, originally known as “Scramble”. It is a word puzzle with a clue, with each word being “jumbled” by scrambling up the letters. Usually, there is a mini cartoon along with the clue, but our cards didn’t really have room for one! Reconstructing the words puts letters in marked positions which creates the answer to the clue. Oft-times the clue is a homophone or pun.

Jumbles are found mostly in newspapers, but there are online versions as well as published books full of them and apps for tablets and phones.

Fun fact: The creator was better known for his work on comic books!
