History
Riddles are an ancient puzzle, being a statement or question with a veiled or double meaning. This forms the puzzle to be solved. There’s two basic forms, the enigma and the conundra. Enigmas are metaphorical questions, whereas conundras are reliant on puns.
Riddles have been part of many myths and legends since the dawn of language, and are used for entertainment purposes and even during interviews as a form of testing the problem-solving skills of the interviewee.
Fun fact: The most well-known riddle, most likely, is the Riddle of the Sphinx.
